Decorative Double Cast On

This cast on yields an attractive edge of staggered, double-yarn bumps, similar in appearance on both sides. It is similar to a long tail cast on. Set up is similar, but the thread over the thumb is doubled. Cast on the first stitch as usual, but the second stitch is picked up from under the right hand leg of the X formed by the thread under the thumb. Gently snug the stitch in place.
