Alternative Long Tail Cast-on
This is a perfect cast-on technique for two color work or when you desire a stretchy cast-on or for ribbing. If being used for ribbing you can easily adjust the sequence of your knit and purl stitches to match your desired ribbing.

Knitted Cast on - German Twisted
This cast on is a long-tail cast on variation. It adds an extra twist to the cast on edge, which adds additional stretch to this type of cast on. While it is not ideal for all projects, it works well as a substitute for most standard cast ons, especially if you tend to have a tight cast on.
