Range: Long-tailed ducks breed during the summer on the Arctic tundra. They winter along the East Coast of North American on the Great Lakes.

Long-tailed ducks are a common sight along the shores of Lake Ontario in the winter. Males are easily identified by their long tails. The females do not have a long tail.
