Knitting Help - Casting-On Without a Slip Knot
In this video we take a look at how using or not using a slip knot in your cast-on changes the look of your knitting, and I demonstrate how to cast-on without a slip knot in a couple of different long-tail COs.
The yarn I use for demonstration is Spud & Chloe Outer.

Knit 2 Color Longtail Cast On
always have the right amount of yarn using this variation of long-tail cast-on. Works beautifully for preparing yarns for striping when you are carrying up along the edge, such as when you might be working with multiple skeins of hand dyed yarn, which can have a lot of color variation even from the same dye lot. Striping them helps to evenly distribute the color variation and break up the inherent puddling that comes with commercial multi-colored yarns.
